Publisher Athlon Games and developer Telltale Games have announced and will today release The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition—Batman: The Telltale Series with a noir-style visual makeover, graphical upgrade, and new downloadable content—for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store for $29.99. Users who already own Batman: The Telltale Series can add “Shadows Mode” as standalone downloadable content for $4.99. The news comes via a now-removed press release posted by Athlon Games.
Athlon Games and Telltale Games reached a publishing agreement earlier this year for five Telltale Games releases, including Batman: The Telltale Series, Batman: The Enemy Within, and The Wolf Among Us, which are currently available for purchase.
“We’re excited to be able to build and continue the legacy of an iconic Telltale Games franchise by launching The Telltale Batman Shadows Edition today,” said Telltale Games CEO Jamie Ottilie in the press release. “This is just the beginning in a much more expansive plan to build on our catalog of Telltale Games titles, which we hope to discuss in further detail in the coming months.”
Here is a brief overview of Batman: The Telltale Series, via Athlon Games:
Batman: The Telltale Series cast players into the fractured psyche of Bruce Wayne in a dark and violent original story and challenges players with discovering the powerful and far-reaching consequences of choice as the Dark Knight. As Batman, players will encounter classic allies and adversaries, and will learn the true meaning of what it means to be the man behind the cowl as Bruce Wayne.
