BitSummit 7 Spirits breaks attendance record; BitSummit 2020 set for May 9 to 10

BitSummit 7 Spirits

BitSummit 7 Spirits, the 2019 edition of the independent games festival BitSummit, saw a record attendance of 17,038 people, the Japan Independent Games Association announced.

The 2019 event had over 50 sponsors and partners, and more than 100 game developers from around the world in attendance with an excess of 200 individual titles on display.

At the BitSummit Awards on June 2, the Japan Independent Games Association awarded the following titles from the 102 games selected for the exhibition:

  • BitSummit Game Jam Winner – (DIS)APPEAR by Eye Blows
  • Innovative Outlaw Award (Innovation in Technology or Ideas) – Symbio by Team Symbio
  • Visual Excellence Award – 39 Days to Mars by It’s Anectodal
  • Excellence in Sound Design Award – No Straight Roads by Metronomik
  • Excellence in Game Design Awards – The Missing: J.J. Macfield and the Island of Memories by White Owls
  • International Award (Best of International Games) – Morkredd by Hyper Games
  • Popular Selection Award – Obakeidoro! by Free Style Games
  • Vermilion Gate Award (Best of Show) – RPG Time: The Legend of Wright by Deskworks

BitSummit 2020 will run from May 9, 2020 to May 10, 2020 at the Kyoto International Exhibition Center Miyako Messe.
