Astral Chain: No DLC planned, but conceived as trilogy [Update: mistranslation]
"If this game sells well, we might see how the story of the series continues."There are no plans to add extra content to Astral Chain through downloadable content, PlatinumGames director Takahisa Taura confirmed in an interview with IGN Benelux, but it is being planned as a trilogy.
“Currently, there are no plans to publish extra content for Astral Chain,” Taura said. “That is different for the game’s story. We’re making the game as a trilogy, and this is the first part of that trilogy. If this game sells well, we might see how the story of the series continues.”
Astral Chain is due out for Switch on August 30.
Thanks, Nintendo Everything.
Update 06/27/19 at 1:40 a.m.: According to Takahisa Taura, what he was reported as saying by IGN Benelux was mistranslated. In a tweet, Taura said, “This article reports that [Astral Chain] is ‘being created as the first part of a trilogy,’ but that’s wrong. I said that I’m thinking about various ways that it can be expanded into a trilogy or more.”
