Judgment sales resume in Japan with ‘New Price Version’ due out on July 18
Re-release to use new character model and voice for Kyohei Hamura.Sega will resume sales for the Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio-developed Judgment for PlayStation 4 in Japan with the release of a “New Price Version” on July 18, the company announced (2).
Japanese shipments and digital sales of Judgment were put on hold back in March following news of actor Pierre Taki’s arrest for allegedly using cocaine in violation of Japan’s drug control law. Taki plays the role of Kyohei Hamura in the game.
Following the news, Sega announced plans to replace the character model and voice for Kyohei Hamura in the upcoming western release. The Japanese re-release, which is due out roughly three weeks after the western release on June 25, will use the same new character model and voice for Kyohei Hamura used in the western release.
