Spike Chunsoft has delayed detective adventure game AI: The Somnium Files from its previously announced worldwide release date of July 25 to September 17 in North America and September 19 in Japan. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.
Spike Chunsoft did not announce a release date for Europe, but Gematsu has reached out to the company for comment. (Update 3:42 a.m.: Spike Chunsoft told Gematsu in an e-mail that information regarding the European release date will be announced “soon.”)
“We deeply apologize for the change, but we would like to assure the community that it was necessary to ensure the best product possible,” Spike Chunsoft said in a press release. “We know our fans are eagerly anticipating this title, and we will continue to strive to meet your expectations.”
AI: The Somnium Files will be available in a $59.99 standard edition and $89.99 “Special Agent Edition.” The latter includes:
- A copy of AI: The Somnium Files for PlayStation 4 or Switch
- A-set acrylic stand – Approx. six inches tall
- Outer box – Original Artwork by character designer Yusuke Kozaki

Story
