Gamescom 2019: Opening Night live stream to be produced by Geoff Keighley

The Game Awards creator Geoff Keighley and executive producer Kimmie H. Kim will produce the opening night live stream of Gamescom 2019, which will air August 19 at 11:00 a.m. PT / 2:00 p.m. ET.

Dubbed “Gamescom: Opening Night Live,” the English-language broadcast will feature announcements from major game publishers and independent developers, as well as world premieres of new game footage and appearances from well-known video game industry stars.

“Gaming is a shared passion around the world, and every time I attend Gamescom I am energized by the passion and excitement from the community in Cologne,” Keighley said in a press release. “The team and I are thrilled to be in Europe this summer to produce this show and share Gamescom with the global video game audience.”

German Games Industry Association managing director of games Felix Falk added, “Opening Night Live is an entirely new show designed to make gamers worldwide a bigger part of the Gamescom experience. With his experience as host and producer of The Game Awards and his strong international network, we couldn’t think of a better partner than Geoff to help us bring this show to life.”

Gamescom 2019 will run from August 20 to 24 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne. More Information will be announced in the coming months.
