Samurai Shodown will be published by Leyou Technologies subsidiary Athlon Games, the company confirmed to Gematsu.
Leyou Technologies acquired an 81.25 percent stake in Samurai Shodown developer SNK in August 2015.
News of the publisher’s involvement in the fighting game first surfaced via a rating from Australian Classification today.
While Athlon Games’ website describes the publisher as “a global developer and publisher of free-to-play console and PC games,” Athlon Games confirmed to Gematsu that Samurai Shodown is not a free-to-play title.
Samurai Shodown is due out in the early summer. Currently, PlayStation 4 is the only confirmed platform. The game will be playable for the first time at PAX East 2019 in Boston from March 29 to 31.
