New Dragon Quest Monsters game in development for console starring Erik and Mia

A brand new entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters series is in development for console, Square Enix announced during the Dragon Quest Monsters 20th anniversary “Coming-of-Age Ceremony” broadcast.

The new game is not a new entry in the Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker series, nor is it a remake—it is a completely new work. The protagonists appear to be Erik and Mia from Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, though they were only introduced as a certain boy and girl.
