Atlus has released new information and screenshots of Catherine: Full Body introducing some of the episodes with new heroine Rin players will experience, the “Nero Glasses” downloadable content, online play, the playable character Joker from Persona 5 downloadable content, and more.
Get the details below.
■ That Girl Has a Secret
Rin is one of the three “Catherines” that show up in Vincent’s life. Perhaps because she has lost her memory, she has an innocent, somehow otherworldly and mysterious atmosphere about her. She is a healing presence to Vincent, who is caught between his girlfriend Katherine and his adulterous partner Catherine.
—Rin has no memory other than her name, and that name of all names is “Qatherine.”
—The naive Rin sometimes makes herself vulnerable. Those times are stressful for Vincent.
—Generally pure. Generally cute. Generally kind. But Rin has a secret. Whether you accept that secret is your decision.
Rin appears in Vincent’s nightmare and saves him with a mysterious power. As the story progresses, Rin’s secret will come to light.
—A lover’s escape journey? Break out of the nightmare alongside Rin!
—Does a happy ending await beyond the opened gate, or something else…?
—There are also scenes where Rin will climb the blocks of action puzzle stages with Vincent. Skillfully guide Rin to the goal!
■ The Nero Glasses Reveal All: The Three “Catherines” in their Nightwear
The “Special Contents: Nero Glasses” downloadable content included with the first-print production limited edition is a mature item that upon equipping lets Vincent see characters in their nightwear. This time, we will take a look at the three “Catherines” in their nightwear.
Catherine
Unlike her provocative one piece that she normally wears, Catherine’s nightwear is a neat and clean white bra and underwear set. The heart-racing knee-high socks are perhaps its most attractive feature.
Katherine
Katherine wears a purple-themed bra and underwear set suited to her image. The top has an unimpressive simple design. The garter belt has an adult-like seductiveness about it.
Rin
Rin wears a refreshing light blue baby doll with a cute lace and ribbon. It is a nightwear perfect for Rin’s lovely image.
“Take Off the Clothes” of the Limited Edition’s Special box
The packaging of the first-print production limited edition that includes the Nero Glasses is entirely illustrated by Shigenori Soejima. It is a special-make that prints the characters’ clothes on the outer sleeve so that their nightwear is revealed when pulling it off the box underneath. You can purchase the Nero Glasses via downloadable content at a later date, but the package illustration is something you can only see by buying the limited edition.
The World through the Lens of the Nero Glasses
The Nero Glasses can be equipped or removed at any time during the game. With them, you can see the characters that appear in event movies or at the Stray Sheep in their nightwear.
—No matter how you look at it, the glasses are strange, but no one around you seems to be uncomfortable… If you put on the glasses and walk around the Stray Sheep, you may even see nightwear on people you would rather not see in their nightwear…
—Turn every scene into a sexy one—even serious discussion or calm conversation scenes.
The movie replay feature also supports the Nero Glasses, allowing you to watch already watched event movies as many times as you want using the glasses. Just choose between “Standard” and “Nero Glasses” mode.
—Some movies cannot be seen on your first playthrough. Aim to complete the collection!
■ Vincent’s Future Changes through E-Mail
During the game, Vincent will have to make choices in various situations. The e-mail feature is one of those situations. How Vincent answers e-mails from the three “Catherines” will change his future in a number of ways.
—Whether you send back a cold response or a lovely-dovey response is up to you. E-mails are a lot easier to respond to this time around.
As you exchange e-mails, the three “Catherines” will send you photographs. Depending on how the story progresses, the photographs you can see will differ.
—The attached photographs have all been redone! Not only have photographs been added for Rin, the photographs for Catherine and Katherine are also completely new.
—Be sure not to open suggestive photographs in front of other people! Open them when no one else is around.
■ Babel and Colosseum: New Stages Added
In the previous game, Babel and and Colosseum modes were only unlocked by clearing certain conditions. In this game, however, you can play both modes from the start. Unlike the main story, these are highly addictive gameplay modes all about the action puzzles.
Babel
An action puzzle mode through and through. Compete to see how far you can climb stages where blocks randomly pile up. There are four stages in total. As you progress through the main story, each stage will gradually unlock.
—In single-player, you can compete for a score to see how far you can climb. Luck may be necessary to make it to the goal!
—In two-player, you can try to make it to the top through cooperation. Support each other’s footing while aiming for the goal!
Colosseum
A competitive puzzle stage mode. The player that reaches the goal first or manages not to fall off the stage is the winner. In this game, several new stages have been added.
—Difficulty varies depending on the stage. Higher difficulty stages will make a battle more exciting. One of the new stages is sure to make your palms sweat with forward-shooting lasers.
■ The Long-Awaited Online Functionality
Online Arena
In the “Online Arena,” you can compete with other users in the Babel and Colosseum rankings. In addition to “Ranked Matches” in which you compete with another player of the same level and “Casual Matches” in which you compete against a random opponent, you can also compete against or cooperate with friends.
Share Functionality
PlayStation 4‘s Share functionality is also supported. Online Arena fully supports this feature, as well as some story parts. Show your magnificent deaths to players all over the country!
Cross-Save and Cross-Play
In addition to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita save data working on either platform, cross-play is also support. Play anytime, anywhere, and with anyone you like!
■ First-Print Purchase Bonus: Persona 5‘s Joker
First-print purchases will include the “Persona 5 Playable Character Joker & Phantom Thieves Special Commentary Set,” which adds Joker as a playable character in Babel and Colosseum.
Joker in Babel
Control Joker with popular background music from Persona 5 and climb up the stacking blocks! For each block you climb, the Phantom Thieves’ lines will change. If you manage to clear Babel with Joker, you can watch a small event that involves the Phantom Thieves.
Joker in Colosseum
By downloading the first-print bonus, you can even select Joker as the player character in Colosseum. Enjoy action scenes with Joker that are completely different from Babel.
—Joker even has his own victory poses!
Catherine: Full Body is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on February 14, 2019 in Japan. A western release is also planned, but has yet to be dated.
