Shoot ’em up Rym 9000 coming to PS4 alongside limited run physical edition

Physical edition limited to 1,600 copies.

Rym 9000

Sonoshee-developed vertical scrolling shoot ’em up Rym 9000, which first launched for PC (Steam) in January, is coming to PlayStation 4 courtesy of Rainbite, and Eastasiasoft will release a physical limited edition exclusively via Play-Asia, the company announced. Pre-orders will open on November 1 at 9:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. UK, and the game is expected to ship in January 2019.

Only 1,600 copies of the Rym 9000 limited edition will be available worldwide. Here is what is included:

  • A physical copy of the game (regio- free)
  • An original soundtrack CD
  • A full-color printed manual (48 pages)
  • An individually numbered collector’s certificate
  • A collector’s box (with a beautifully-embossed logo)

Here is an overview of the game, via Eastasiasoft:

Rym 9000 is a vertical shoot’em up in which you fight your way through 5 levels of concentrated action to reach the Moon and find the Rym 9000 treasure; a legendary relic left by an ancient civilization, buried in the Moon for a generation of pilots to find and “turn the world upside down.”

With an emphasis on haywire motion and experimental visuals from Sonoshee, along with a cyber-stellar soundtrack from Roex, Rym 9000 will take you on a chaotic trip of challenging but fair hyperkinetic fun.

Achievements are set in place for the player to unlock World Log entries and know more about the world they’re venturing into, as well as understanding the history behind the treasure that the protagonist and millions of other pilots are setting out to find.

Fight your way through relentless hordes of enemies, defeat each area’s boss all the way up to the Moon’s guardian “Diesel”, and register your score upon beating the game on a leaderboard that records the top 10 players in the world.

The PlayStation 4 version features several improvements, including performance updates, online leaderboards and Tate mode support.
