Square Enix will release a demo for Dragon Quest Builders 2, the company announced during its “Dragon Quest Builders 2 Extracurricular Lesson @ AEON Mall Makuhari Shintoshin.” A release date for the demo was not announced.
Speaking during the event, producer Noriyoshi Fujimoto said that since development on the full version of the game has yet to finish, they want to first put their energy into completing it. Once that is done, they will start work on the demo, which they plan to release before the full game launches.
Square Enix also showcased a new area called Occulm Island, which once prospered due to a gold rush, but is now only a desolate desert. Below its grounds are a huge ruins and underground lake. Its inhabitants include:
- Pero – The bar show girl. She wants to see the mines and bar reconstructed.
- Carlo – A former blacksmith who stopped working due to the Hargon Order.
- Massimo – A man who is good at mining, but bad at fighting monsters.
Dragon Quest Builders 2 is due out for PlayStation 4 and Switch on December 20 in Japan.
