Square Enix has released new information and screenshots of its upcoming third-person survival action game Left Alive, introducing the prologue, three protagonists, and survival action.
Get the details below.
■ Prologue
December, 2127.
The Garmonia Republic, which is situated next to the Black Sea, suddenly declared war against its neighboring country, the Ruthenia Republic.
The invasion of the border city Novo Slava had begun.
The Ruthenia Army’s defense force, which were hit by the surprise attack, completely collapsed, and the battle seemed to end in the blink of an eye.
However, the adjacent battle for those left behind in the aftermath of the war is about to begin.
■ Characters
Mikhail Alexandrovich Shuvalov
A Wanzer pilot for the Ruthenia Army’s Second Mobile Platoon. While inexperienced, his basic abilities as a pilot are highly valued. However, his minor breach of discipline stands out, and many members of the army treat him as a problem child.
While defending the streets of Novo Slava, attacked by the Garmonia Army, his unit encountered the Wanzer force regarded as the enemy’s main strength and suffered a devastating attack that dealt heavy damage to his Wanzer.
Although he just barely managed to escape his Wanzer, he found himself isolated without any ally forces nearby.
Olga Sergevna Kalinina
An officer of the Novo Slava police. Although she was once a Wanzer pilot for the Garmonia Army, she was involved in the Novo Slava liberation movement and lost her only daughter during the armed conflict that occurred between the army and the people. She left the military in its wake.
She became a citizen of Ruthenia when the country annexed Novo Slava. Then she became a police officer.
Although she exhibits excellent ability as a police officer and makes efforts to improve the public order of Novo Slava, her independent actions based on her own judgments stand out. She is pursuing the human trafficking incidents frequently occurring in Novo Slava.
Leonid Fedorovich Osterman
A leading member of the Novo Slava liberation movement group NGFP. Originally a mercenary, he was hired by the group as a bodyguard as the armed conflict intensified. As he continued to work for the group, he gradually began to sympathize with its ideals and became a core member that oversees armed conflict.
When the group leader was later assassinated, he was captured as the perpetrator and sentenced to death. While he consistently denied the crime and has no known motives, his guilt was decided by several pieces of evidence. Although the death sentence was already publicly executed and he was supposed to have died, he has actually been imprisoned. When the battle breaks out in the city of Novo Slava, he escapes.
He himself knows nothing of the details of the crime he was charged, nor does he know why he was kept alive in the aftermath.
■ Survive on a Battlefield Dominated by Enemies
The three protagonists, left behind in a city that has become a battlefield, will fight in order to survive and achieve their goals in a new survival action game that inherits the world setting of the Front Mission series.
The game progresses via the three protagonists Mikhail, Olga, and Leonid. Each with their own circumstances, the story of those left behind on the battlefield will begin.
As materials are limited, including bullets, it will be extremely difficult to take on battles head-on against a large group of enemies. This is a game with a feeling of strategy, such as choosing a route to avoid enemies and fighting using traps.
What is the reason behind Garmonia’s sudden invasion of Ruthenia? As the protagonists proceed onward, they’ll encounter glimpses of conspiracy.
Whether infiltrating or using traps, there are various options outside of firefights. There are also elements that change based on player decisions outside of battle.
