Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games trademarks Shattered State in Europe
New IP on the way?
Supermassive Games, the studio behind the PlayStation 4 horror game Until Dawn, has trademarked “Shattered State” in Europe alongside a logo.
While the 2015-released Until Dawn is owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the “Shattered State” IP is owned by Supermassive Games itself, meaning that it could appear on any platform. The studio has only twice developed for non-PlayStation platforms in its 10-year history: once in 2010 with Big Match Striker for PC, and again in 2012 with the release of Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock for PC in addition to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions. However, those were also the only two times Sony Interactive Entertainment did not own and publish the game it was developing.
