Clannad for PS4 coming to U.S. as digital-only title [Update]

(But the Japanese physical version supports English text.)

Prototype will release the PlayStation 4 version of Clannad as a digital-only title in the United States, the company announced. A release date was not announced. In Japan, Clannad will be released both physically and digitally for PlayStation 4 on June 14.

As previously detailed, the PlayStation 4 version of Clannad features both English and Japanese text, which can be switched at any time during gameplay. This is true for both the western and Japanese versions of the game.

Users who prefer a physical copy of the game can import the Japanese version, which is currently available for pre-order on Play-Asia for $51.99. Buyers can save $3.00 by using the coupon code “GEMATSU.”

Gematsu asked Prototype on Twitter if it can confirm a release date for the United States version of Clannad for PlayStation 4, and if it is also going to be released in Europe, but the company has not responded.

Updage 5:45 a.m. Prototype ha clarified that the PlayStation 4 version of Clannad will be released in the United States in late June, and that distribution in other areas such as Europe is still in preparation.
