Arcade Archives: Donkey Kong

Arcade Archives: Donkey Kong, the first-ever release of the complete arcade version outside of arcades, is now available for Switch via the Nintendo eShop for $7.99, Nintendo announced during its E3 2018 Nintendo Treehouse live stream.

Here is an overview of the game, via Nintendo.com:

Save Lady from her kidnapper Donkey Kong!

Donkey Kong is an action game released in 1981 by Nintendo. Avoid a variety of obstacles while heading through a construction site to make it to the top and rescue Lady. Use the hammer to destroy the barrels and fire coming towards you to earn more points. * This version contains both the early and later versions as well as the international version.

The Arcade Archives series has faithfully reproduced many classic Arcade masterpieces.

Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.
Please enjoy the masterpiece that built a generation for video games.

Additionally, Nintendo announced that Arcade Archives: Sky Skipper will be released for Switch in July.

Both titles are a collaboration between Nintendo and Arcade Archives publisher Hamster.
