The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV details Septian Church and former Class VII characters
Another week, another slew of characters introduced.
Falcom has released the new information and screenshots of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~, introducing former Class VII members Laura S. Arseid, Jusis Albarea, Gaius Worzel, as well as Thomas Lysander and Rufus Albarea, the Septian Church, and related keywords.

■ Characters
Laura S. Arseid (voiced by Mariya Ise)
A member of the old Class VII, and the daughter of the Arseid viscount family, a noble military family that has mastered the way of the sword.
After graduating from Thors Military Academy, she entered training with her father, and in the short period of a year and a half, mastered the secret traditions of the Arseid style and became an assistant instructor.
After that, while travelling around training grounds all over the Empire, she lent a hand to the activities of Rean and the new Class VII.
With disaster approaching the empire, she helped Rean and company as a member of the old Class VII, and during that time, the battleship Courageous captained by the Arseid viscount exploded.
Awaiting Laura was a tragedy that would “separate her from her father.”
Jusis Albarea (voiced by Shinnosuke Tachibana)
The second son of the Albarea Dukedom, one of the Four Great Houses, that rules over Kreuzen Province in the eastern part of the Empire, and an intelligent and courageous noble youth.
After the Civil War, he took over as the “acting lord” of his home town, Kreuzen Province, in place of his father Helmut, who was arrested as one of the ringleaders, and his older brother Rufus, who became the first governor-general of Crossbell State.
Seeing the current state of aristocracy in the Empire, he was actively participating in activities as the acting head of his family, such as the “Territorium Conference” to propose the next Duke of Cayenne, until—.
When disaster broke loose in the Imperial capital, a dark truth about the blood relationship with his brother came to light, and the “girls” that were like family parted with him before his very eyes.
Gaius Worzel (voiced by Yoshimasa Hosoya)
A member of the old Class VII, Gaius is a young man of the Nord People, nomads who have strong faith in the wind and goddess.
After graduating from Thors Military Academy, and following an incident that occurred in the Nord Highlands, he inherited the eighth Stigmata from the Dominion Barkhorn and became a member of the Gralsritter that belongs to the Septian Church.
Upon returning to the Empire after training as a knight at the Church’s headquarters in the Holy City of Arteria, Gaius cooperates with Rean and company as a former member of Class VII.
Although he fought hard to protect the Nord Highlands and the Empire, his second home town, even with the mighty power of the Divine Knight Dominion No. 8 “Soaring Phoenix,” he was unable to prevent the disaster in the Empire.
Thomas Lysander (voiced by Kouhei Matsumoto)
The Second Dominion “Partitioner” of the Gralsritter that belongs to the Septian Church, and the deputy head of the group.
Initially, he hid in the Empire as a literature and history instructor at Thors Military Academy.
In order to stop the loathsome disaster known as The Great Twilight, he made various moves behind the scenes of Rean and the new and old Class VII’s activities, such as tasking his squires with the recovery and analysis of the Black Records (ancient relics that describe the past and future of the Empire), and occasionally trying to contact the Hexen Clan, who are well-informed on the history of the Empire.
—However. Thomas’ efforts were in vain, as the disaster became a reality due to Chancellor Osborne, the Gnomes, and the Ouroboros society.
Rufus Albarea (voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa)
The first son of the Albarea Dukedom, one of the Four Great Houses, and the leader of the Ironbloods that report directly to Chancellor Osborne.
While devising a brilliant strategy as the army chief general during the Civil War, he worked closely with Chancellor Osborne’s Reformist Faction behind the scenes and successfully weakened noble influence.
After that, he became the first governor-general of Crossbell State, where he exhibited his infinite talent as a leader, such as through the skillful regulation of information to suppress the citizens’ feelings of rebellion against the Empire.
When disaster breaks loose in the Imperial capital, he stands before the new and old Class VII and reveals his true origin and distorted blood relation to his younger brother Jusis.

Septian Church
The widest growing faith in the continent of Zemuria, the Septian Church is a huge religious organization that worships Aidios, the Goddess of the Sky.
The church was established immediately following the Great Collapse of ancient Zemurian civilization, and is said to have guided the people amidst the chaos.
While their influence has somewhat declined due to the technological developments that accompanied the Orbal Revolution, they are still in a position to guide the people in various fields such as education, training, and medical care.
Gralsritter
The private knights of the Septian Church in charge of the recovery of ancient relics called Artifacts that conceal a dangerous power, and all cases related to them.
Since they play their roles behind the scenes and cannot go public as “external hunters,” few people know of their existence.
The Gralsritter consists of 12 Dominions, each who possesses mighty power and their own Stigmata, as well as knights and squires that support them. Dominion No. 1 “Carnelia” Ein Selnate is the current Grand Master of the Gralsritter.
Black Records
A rare type of artifact in book form discovered all over the Empire.
Various events related to the past and future are seemingly recorded in the Black Records, and they even predicted incidents outside the Empire such as the Salt Pale that appeared in the former Principality of North Ambria, and the Orbal Shutdown Phenomenon that occurred in the Liberl Kingdom.
The Black Records also predicted the disaster that broke loose in the Empire, but the future ahead has yet to be clarified, and even now the Septian Church who have recovered and analyzed the Records cannot grasp the future events occuring in the Empire and other countries in the continent.
It should be noted that the original Black Records are in the posession of the Imperial family of the Erebonian Empire, and only those that inherit the throne are allowed to read its contents.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV ~The End of Saga~ is due out for PlayStation 4 in Japan this fall.
