Media Create Sales: 1/1/18 – 1/7/18

The Media Create sales numbers for the first week of 2018 are in.

Outside of three 3DS Double Pack bundles, there were no new releases in Japan last week. Neither of the three Double Packs charted in the top 20 sales.

Last week’s sales are very much a reflection of the previous week, with 117,840 Splatoon 2 sales, 110,816 Super Mario Odyssey sales, and 82,806 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sales dominating the top three.

On the hardware side, Switch moved 146,006 units, the PlayStation 4 family moved 91,683 units, and the 3DS family moved 45,737 units. New 3DS, PlayStation 3, and Wii U sales are seemingly no longer being tracked in 2018, as production of each console has ended in Japan.
