These are surely all things used by apartment complex managers.D3 Publisher has released new information and screenshots of Happy Manager, its love adventure game where players take on the role of an apartment complex manager, introducing its “Guide Voice” character, manager’s terminal, and more.
Get the details below.
■ Is your first job a bit lonely? It’s OK, because I’m with you!
Three residents reside in “Happy Manor,” but are you not nervous about your first job? Actually, there is probably a lot of work you won’t know how to proceed with, so please rely on me during those times.
Even outside of the manager’s room, I will give you advice with my “Guide Voice” based on the circumstances. I will give you my utmost support in order to make sure your work here goes smoothly.
—The guide character is voiced by Minami Muta
■ How do managers work?
A single day of managerial work is divided into six times: 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, and 21:00. By creating a schedule that divvies up “patrolling,” “cleaning,” and “standby” to each time, a full day will pass.
Patrolling
Patrol the rooms of the residents. If a resident is in their room, you can start a conversation with them.
Cleaning
By cleaning the common area of the apartment complex, its “cleanliness” will increase, and by installing new equipment, its “adequacy” will increase.
Standby
In the manager’s room, you can deal with suppliers, prepare items, and check the inside of the apartment complex. When on standby, visitors and residents may also call you at your extension.
■ What is the manager-exclusive terminal?
The terminal is essential to moving forward with your managerial duties. You can make your work schedule, see information about the residents and apartment complex, and more. The terminal can also be used to find out where in the apartment complex the residents might be.
Additionally, the terminal includes an unexpected feature called “Blur.” Huh, it looks like some sort of controller? Right, when pursuing simple use of terminal controls, this is exactly how it would appear.
■ What is the “Blur” feature?
“Blur” is a special terminal feature approved by Hanasaki City for the exclusive use of apartment complex managers. There are five attributes and 12 varieties of Blur, but here we will introduce the feature’s representative functionalities. Since Blur is only intended for managerial work, please use it with moderation.
Light Attribute: “Light See-Through”
Have a conversation with a resident while seeing through their clothes. This was originally a security feature to inspect outside visitors, but has since become resident-exclusive.
—There are four varities of frames. This feature exists for the sole purpose of security.
*This feature cannot be used when a resident is wearing swimsuits or only underwear.
Light Attribute: “Light Invisible”
Become invisible and patrol the residents without giving them stress. Since this feature also includes a silencer, the manager can watch over the residents’ daily lives without intrusion. Be sure to remember that this feature is solely for the sake of patrolling.
Time Attribute: “Time Stop”
Stop the movement of everyone except the manager for 15 seconds in real time. While time is stopped, you can get as close to the residents as you want, but be sure to put a stop to any mischief. The feature can be used at any time during a conversation.
Desire Attribute: “Desire Read”
Listen to the inner voice of the person you are talking to. By doing this, you can learn the true intentions that they hidden within, so be sure to use this feature assertively.
Use this feature on residents who constantly sigh or talk to themselves during conversations. You may be able to get a hint on how to solve their problems.
Energy Attribute: “Energy Clean”
This feature lets you clean up all the garbage and messiness at the location it is activated. Use this to instantly clean places where cleanliness has declined and cannot be cleaned due to things such as residential interaction. This feature can be activated at any time during cleaning.
Magic Attribute: “Magic Wind”
Blow up wind from beneath the residents for a fixed time. You can replay “memories” of past events from the manager’s terminal, which is where you can activate this feature. Since this feature can only be activated when replaying memories, you do not have to worry about your favorability with the residents decreasing.
Magic Attribute: “Magic Dwarf”
A feature that minifies the manager. Like “Magic Wind,” it can only be activated when replaying “memories.” By using this feature, you can check out the residents from angles you normally could not see. But you might injure your neck if you look up too much, so please be careful.
■ The Happy Manor manager’s work is full of teeheehee events!
You understand that the work of the manager of Happy Manor is a bit different from the work of a regular apartment manager, yes?
I see. At Happy Manor, the distance between the manager and residents is (in many aspects) extremely close. If the manager works diligently and gains the trust of the residents, there will be lots of special work, including private consultations, drinking sake with a resident in their room, and personal errand requests.
Now then, won’t you take on the role of manager of Happy Manor?
This is also part of your work!? A job where you stand guard so suspicious people do not intrude on showering residents!… What do you say to that?
Add a balance ball to the fitness gym. If you do, the gym-loving Barabara-Kristine will immediately visit for training…!?
Happy Manager is due out for PlayStation 4 on January 11, 2018 in Japan.
