Tatsuma Sakamoto will appears as a playable character and Batou as a boss character in Gintama Rumble, the latest issue of Weekly Jump reveals.
With the inclusion of Sakamoto, there are now 12 playable characters confirmed for the action game.
Dubbed “The Dragon of Katsurahama,” Sakamoto is described as “a merchant that travels all over the universe,” who “once fought alongside Gintoki in the Joui War, and was considered superior to the Joui 4 Devas.” At mid range, Sakamoto excels at gun-fighting. He can also call for protective fire from the Kairinmaru ship (though in the screenshot, it seems to be targeting Sakamoto).
Batou, “The Star Sword King,” is the captain of the 2nd Division of the Harusame pirates who can read the opponent’s with the “third eye” on his forehead. He is described as a strong opponent who attacks with swords at close range, and flying slash attacks at long range.
Finally, the magazine confirms that the “Rakuyou Decisive Battle Arc” will appears as part of the game’s “Long-Form Retrospective Rumble Mode” (story mode). Both Shinsuke Takasugi and Oboro will have costumes to match the arc.
Gintama Rumble will launch for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in Japan, as well as for PlayStation 4 with English subtitles in Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Philippines), on January 18, 2018.
