Demon’s Souls online services to end on February 28 in Japan [Update: North America and Europe]
Three months of online left for the original Souls.Online services for Demon’s Souls will come to an end in Japan on February 28, 2018 at 17:00 JST, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia announced.
After February 28, 2018, players will not hav access to the following features:
- Online multiplayer (co-op and invasions)
- Writing and reading hint messages
- Other players’ bloodstaines (death replays)
- Wandering phantoms
- Browsing the rankings
Demon’s Souls first began service for PlayStation 3 in Japan on February 5, 2009.
Unlike Japan, Demon’s Souls‘ online servers are handled by Atlus in North America and Europe. Atlus has not announced plans to shut down Demon’s Souls‘ servers in the west.
Update 4:20 p.m.: Atlus and Bandai Namco have confirmed that servers for Demon’s Souls will also shut down in North America and Europe on February 28.
