There's also five-player online cooperative multiplayer.D3 Publisher has shared new SG/ZH School Girl/Zombie Hunter information and screenshots detailing the PlayStation 4 third-person shooter‘s “copy zombies,” underwear decoys, and more.
Get the details below.
■ A Mysterious Facility Beneath the School
The girls discover a mysterious facility beneath the school from the notes dropped by the zombies they defeated. It appears to be some sort of research facility, but…
—Could it be that this ominous facility is somehow related to Ren’s plan, the one said to be the mastermind behind the incident?
—While investigating the facility, the girls come across running machinery. Strange circles of light surround three of the girls, but don’t seem to cause any harm. But the girls remain skeptical.
How are is this related to the mysterious Ren, who is creating the zombies?
Ren is a man who has some sort of connection to the ZPF, the Zombie Punitive Force that appears in the Onechanbara series. His goal behind controlling the zombies and sending them into the girls’ school is currently unknown. What is his connection to the school’s underground facility?
■ Copy Zombies
Copy zombies are formidable enemies created under Ren’s plan that take on the same form as the five girls. These are special zombies created with the scanned body information of the girls left trapped in the school. They’re zombies, yet the have the same level of intelligence as a living human being.
—Copy zombies possess even greater physical ability than the five girls. In order to defeat the originals and replace them with themselves, the zombies launch a relentless attack on the five girls.
—A zombie with the same appearance as Rei Kanazaki, one of the game’s five protagonists. The copy zombie uses the same shotgun as Rei, as well as the same karate kick techniques, making it a formidable foe.
■ Zombies Swarm Around Underwear, Too
Some of the zombies that appear in this game attack in response to the scent of clothes. Before zombies tear up your clothes, you can use them as a decoy. We’ve introduced this decoy strategy before, but this time we will introduce a different form of clothes that you can use as a decoy.
—What can you use as a decoy while still wearing your clothes? Your underwear, of course.
It is impossible to take off and replace your underwear in the heat of battle due to various adult-like circumstances, but by meeting certain requirements, you can take a shower via the equipment screen, which will let you take off and replace the underwear you were wearing so that you can use the old pair as a decoy during battle.
—When showered, the girl is completely refreshed. Her stock of decoys can also be replenished.
—When used as a decoy, the underwear worn for a longer period beforehand exhibits greater effect (the amount of seconds it lasts). If you wore them for a short amount of time, you won’t be able to use them as a decoy in the first place. (Used underwear is the same as oden in that it is meaningless unless the soup stock soaks into it.) Also, it seems like it doesn’t have too great an effect on female zombies, rarely ever influencing them.
■ Online Cooperative Multiplayer
In addition to campaign mode, through which you’ll progress the story by completing missions, there is also a five-player co-op online multiplayer mode. There are a total of 10 online missions to complete with a higher degree of difficulty compared to campaign mode.
—Collect strong weapons during campaign mode and bring your developed characters into online mode.
—If your allies fall in battle, you can use an item called “AED” to bring them back. Any number of people can be revived so long as they’re within the item’s area of effect.
SG/ZH School Girl/Zombie Hunter will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan on January 12 for 6,980 yen. Read about the game’s first-print and shop-specific purchase bonuses here.
