Pit People, the strategy RPG from Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theater developer The Behemoth, will launch for Xbox One via Game Preview and PC via Steam Early Access on January 13, 2017, the studio announced.
According to The Behemoth, the core gameplay is complete and new content will be added in the lead-up to the full release. The studio feels the game in its current stage has “more than enough fun, content, variety, value and play-time to keep someone happy.” The Behemoth also hopes to use this early release to monitor game’s balance and continue getting feedback from the community.
Here’s what the early release will include:
- A sizable chunk of the Story missions
- Access to several world maps (there are more than one)
- Quests
- Unfair Challenge against the AI
- Versus mode
The game supports both single-player and two-player co-op. Versus mode can be played with up to four people in two-versus-two., and all multiplayer modes can be played locally or online.
As for what will be added in the lead-up to the full release, The Behemoth is planning more quests, collectible items, story missions, world maps and other polish.
While the full version of Pit People will cost $20 when it launches, the early release will cost $15. Buying the early release will, of course, grant you access to the full release when it launches.
