Square Enix has released a new set of NieR: Automata screenshots showcasing the game’s “Forest Zone” and the “Forest Castle” within it.
As previously detailed, the Forest Zone is a naturally rich area where lush forests spread out alongside a gently flowing stream. An old building converted into a giant castle that gives off a lingering scent of civilization lies deep within. The machine life-forms that appear in the woodlands wear Middle Ages-style armor and have a somewhat humorous appearance. Under the command of a leader-like individual, they seem to make up a unique community that performs battle training and military formations.
NieR: Automata will launch for PlayStation 4 in Japan on February 23, and for PlayStation 4 and PC in North America and Europe in early 2017.
