D3 Publisher has launched a countdown website for a new project.

The seven-day countdown website currently features a ping pong ball in the background. That image is located here. Luckily, changing the number associated with the image (countdown_02.jpg, etc.) gets us the countdown images for the rest of the week. Each image, save for the final day, is associated with previously released Simple 1500 Series and Simple 2000 Series titles:

Day 1: “Love ★ Ping Pong?”

Day 2: “The Golf?”

Day 3: “Love ★ Smash?”

Day 4: “The Baseball?”

Day 5: “The Soccer?”

Day 6: “The Bowling HYPER?”

Day 7: “The punishment?”

D3 Publisher previously teased two unannounced games for its Tokyo Game Show 2016 lineup. This is likely one of them.

The countdown ends on the day of Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia’s pre-Tokyo Game Show 2016 press conference, so it will likely be announced there.

Update 3:05 a.m.: Apparently the source code of the countdown.js file on the website contained the following reference, before it was removed:

’https://www.d3p.co.jp/edf5/’:new Array(‘2016/9/13 18:00:00′,’2016/12/31 23:59:59’),

Earth Defense Force 5 it is, then?
