Ubisoft has released a new promotional video for South Park: The Fractured but Whole parodying the Oculus Rift.
The video features a fake, “Nosulus Rift” device, which is a new gaming peripheral mounted to the nose that allows players to smell the farts of South Park: The Fractured But Whole.
“In South Park: The Fractured But Whole, you are playing the new kid in town, the hero and one of your special abilities is really the power of your ass,” said Ubisoft San Francisco senior producer Jason Schroeder. “The only way to really help people experience that strength is to really make sure that they can feel it, and that means getting really close.”
Ubisoft worked with Japanese design consultant Nakata Tuobashi and “Nose” Jurgen Bischoff to create the device. Before finally creating the “Fartgrance” built into the unit, Bischoff had smelt more than a thousand farts from various butts.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole is due out for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on December 6.
