Level-5 announced Lady Layton: The Millionaire Ariadone’s Conspiracy, the next entry in the Professor Layton series, for 3DS, iOS, and Android during its Level-5 Vision 2016 event. It’s due out in Japan in spring 2017. (Update: And in the west in 2017.)

The story follows Katrielle Layton (voiced by Kasumi Arimura), the daughter of Professor Hershel Layton. Katrielle is a “jack-of-all-trades, mystery-solving detective” who solves strange incidents that occur in London. From looking for someone’s pet cat to exposing the criminal in a murder case, she’ll take on any job. Her bizarre ideas for solving cases are gradually becoming a topic, and she’s starting to receive various cases. While she originally started working as a detective to find her father who suddenly disappeared, she is working to solve a variety of mysteries in town in the course of it. As she is pursuing new requests each day, the search for her father is not progressing. Katrielle also has an assistant—a talking dog named Sharo (voiced by Koji Yakusho)—who helps her in her deductions. Other characters include Noah Montoir (voiced by Kentaro Sakaguchi), who works part-time as Katrielle’s helper, and Geraldine Laywer (voiced by Meisa Kuroki), a genius analyst and profiler in London who sees Katrielle as a rival.

The game features the voice talents of Kasumi Arimura, Koji Yakusho, Meisa Kuroki, and so on. Its theme song will be sung by an big female artist, but her identity is still a secret.
