Ibuki is planned for release as a playable character in Street Fighter V “in the last week of June,” alongside the game’s “Cinematic Story Mode,” Capcom said in a development update. She was originally planned for release in May, but was delayed for fine-tuning.
“We apologize to our players all over the globe for not communicating this change to our release schedule sooner,” Capcom said. “While we planned to talk about the timing of her release this week, it’s clear that we should have been more upfront with everyone on the shift in timing.”
Capcom adds that from here on, “we will be much more transparent when plans change so all of our fans know what to expect.”
The company also addressed rage quitting, which is an ongoing issue with the game’s online matches. It notes that since its latest solution, the amount of players who disconnect during matches is down by “roughly 60 percent,” but that “it’s clear we still have a lot of work to do on this issue and you can expect us to roll out additional measures in the future to help address this problem.”
