Energy Hook will launch digitally for PlayStation 4 on July 5, developer Happion Laboratories announced.
The game, from the man who prototyped the swinging mechanics of the Spider-Man 2 video game, sees players swinging from a grapple beam, running on walls, jumping and boosting with a jet pack, and doing flips and poses in midair to earn style points. You’ll get multipliers by chaining together tricks, and there are also race challenges where you’ll be challenged with swinging through levels as quickly as possible.
The game has no story, and each level is done by different artists, so each has its own flavor. There’s a cyberpunk city, a level with rocks and islands floating in the clouds, TRON-like challenge levels, and levels where if you miss our swing, you’ll die.
