Square Enix will kick off its Dragon Quest 30th Anniversary Countdown Special live stream at 5:30 a.m. PT / 8:30 a.m. ET / 21:30 JST.

The broadcast will feature Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii alongside guest developers connected to the series as they look back on its history.

While not guaranteed or even teased in the slightest, it’s possible we’ll hear more about Dragon Quest XI, which is aiming for release before March 27, 2017.

Overview

On May 27, 1986, Dragon Quest was born on the Nintendo Entertainment System. And this year, it’s 30th anniversary has finally arrived.

On May 26, a day before we commemorate the series’ 30th anniversary, Square Enix will stream a countdown special via a Niconico Live Broadcast.

With Yuji Horii and guests related to Dragon Quest, we will look back on the series’ history.

We will count down to and welcome the 30th birthday of Dragon Quest together with everyone, so please enjoy the program!
