Compile founder Masamitsu Niitani establishes new company Compile Maru

Puyo Puyo creator Masamitsu Niitani, founder of Compile, which was dissolved in 2002 before Compile Heart was founded and managed by Niitani in 2006 up until his retirement in 2012, has announced the establishment of a new company called Compile-O (pronounced Compile Maru).

In a blog post, Niitani reveals that the company’s first game, a falling object puzzle game called Nyoki Nyoki, is planned for release across consumer platforms, PC, and other devices simultaneously at the end of the year. Niitani said that if Tetris is the first generation and Puyo Puyo is the second, then he is confident that Nyoki Nyoki will be the third generation.
