Voice acting for most characters also rumored.

Journalist Emily Rogers has shared a series of rumors she has heard about the new The Legend of Zelda game for Wii U.

The rumors are:

  • Rumor #1 Yes, Zelda is coming to both Wii U and NX. I confirmed it with a ton of people. You can choose which one to get. Or get both.”
  • Rumor #2: I heard from multiple sources that you can choose between a male or female as your playable character in Zelda.”
  • Rumor #3: There is voice acting for most of the characters…except Link.”

The first rumor on the list isn’t very hard to believe. In fact, a credible leak back in December nearly confirmed as much.

As for Rogers, she has proven herself reliable in the past, being the first to talk about the new Paper Mario game for Wii U. Even so, Nintendo World Report’s Neal Ronaghan has reportedly heard similar rumors from multiple sources.

Makes sense thered be a gender select. The game is gonna be open world, right? For some people, having even that small bit of character customization may do a LOT for immersion. Also, kids play these games, including little girls, let them have an option too. Its not like theyre removing male link from the game.

you do realize a lot of kids, including young girls play LoZ right? When I was little, I wish I could’ve played a girl Link.
It’s not like they’re removing male Link from the game. What damage does it do to you to let people have Link be female. Want male Link? Play as male Link.

Lore and Character development, that’s the damage being done. Link represents the player, but HE has his own story, the story and character is what i’m talking about, want a female Link, go buy Hyrule Warriors Legends and play Linkle(P.S. She’s a different character all together and not a real real female Link). deal with it, we don’t need a official female Link. You want a female Link, go do/look at some fan-art or go to DeviantArt. Yes I realize there are kids playing the Legend of Zelda, and if we have a female Link why not a female Mario, a female Mega Man, a female Snake, or a Male Samus? OH WAIT, that’s not who they are, and that’s not who Link is.
