GameStop to publish new Tequila Works, Ready at Dawn, and Frozenbyte titles
GameStop launches GameTrust publishing division.GameStop will publish new titles from Deadlight developer Tequila Works, The Order: 1886 developer Ready at Dawn, and Trine developer Frozenbyte via its new GameTrust publishing division, the company announced.
The news follows the January-announced Song of the Deep, which Ratchet & Clank studio Insomniac Games is developing, and will be the first title to be published by GameTrust.
Specific titles have not been announced, but in addition to Deadlight: Director’s Cut Edition, which will be published by Deep Silver, Tequila Works is known to be working on Rime, the rights to which it recently acquired from Sony. And Frozenbyte recently announced it will launch Shadwen for PlayStation 4 and PC in May.
MCV UK has an interview with GameStop VP of Internal Development and Diversification Mark Stanley, who shares more insight into GameTrust—a brand about working with smaller titles ($15 million budget or less) and letting developers retain full rights to their properties, with GameStop having no involvement in the creative side of development.
