Stories: The Path of Destinies trailer introduces loot, swords

Spearhead Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming PlayStation 4 action RPG Stories: The Path of Destinies.

Dubbed “an enchanted storybook filled with madcap fantasy tales,” each told by a narrated attuned to the player’s choices and actions, Stories puts players in the role of Reynardo the fox, moments before the final battle between the army of a mad Emperor and the Rebellion. Reynardo uses “Sword Fu,” a fast-paced combat style that can be customized with dash and grab techniques, as well as “Time Mastery” abilities.

Reynardo will come across various loot during his adventure, including rare magical gems which, when equipped, enhances his natural abilities like resistance, speed, or damage.

The protagonist can also forge magical swords using the right materials. Each has unique powers that Reynardo can activate when he’s in a pinch. For example, attacks let out with the “Firestorm” sword will be accompanied by a fiery explosion.
