Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 details hidden secrets, Reactor and Ride systems
Use your Reactor to uncover secrets hidden in the world.
Square Enix has released a new set of details and screenshots for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 introducing secrets hidden in the game world, and the game’s Reactor and Ride systems.
The setting of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 is “Break World.” This world features a great number of fields, ranging from areas covered in ice or engulfed in lava to green fields and futuristic towns.
In town and on the field, a mini-map is displayed on the lower screen indicating where your next destination.
Your presence in this world is apparently quite unusual, as humans aren’t often seen. But for what special reason could you be here?
■ Dig Up the Secrets Hidden in the Field
A number of mysteries are hidden in the fields of Break World. Here is where the protagonist’s Reactor device and ability to ride monsters comes into play.
Reactor
In addition to monster data analysis, the Reactor device worn by the protagonist can be used in a variety of situations. The all-purpose tool can be used to uncover hidden treasure chest locations, secret paths normally not seeable, and the like.
When you’re exploring the field, the Reactor will react when it detects something.
You can then startup your Reactor and search the surrounding area.
Here it looks like the protagonist is walking in the sky.
However, it is actually a secret path discovered by the Reactor.
Riding Monsters
Players can ride monsters on land, sea, and in the air. By riding monsters and searching every corner of the field, you can come across new discoveries.
By riding around on a Saber, for example, you can jump higher and therefore reach higher locations than normally possible.
Or by riding a Dracky, you can reach the treasure chest on this floating piece of ice.
Monster riding will evolve as you progress through the story. For example, you’ll be able to jump in the air multiple times in a row. In the following screenshot, the icons at the bottom of the screen represent the amount of times the player can jump.
■ Ride Your Favorite Monsters
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 has over 500 monsters and all support riding. You can also attack enemies on the field while riding a monster. If you attack a monster before the battle initiates, you could can gain an advantage during the fight.
A release date for Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 3 has not been announced.
