Hyrule Warriors Legends adds playable Toon Link

"Wind Waker" story added to Legend Mode.

Toon Link in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U

Toon Link will be playable in Hyrule Warriors Legends, Nintendo and Koei Tecmo’s upcoming 3DS version of Wii U’s Hyrule Warriors, the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu reveals.

The new character joins previously announced additional playable characters Tetra and the King of Hyrule. All three are from The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, which originally launched for GameCube in 2002.

Toon Link has a free-flowing battle style, moving swiftly as he swings his sword. He won’t be playable in Legend Mode, but he’ll be available in other modes. Of course, just like Tetra and the King of Hyrule, Toon Link will also be playable in the Wii U version via the 3DS game.

Famitsu also reveals a new “Wind Waker” story for Legend Mode. Tetra will be playable, and the King of Hyrule and Helmaroc King will also appear.

Hyrule Warriors Legends is due out for 3DS in spring 2016.
