Scalebound launches holiday 2016, first gameplay

Platinum Games action RPG features four-player co-op.

Scalebound will launch for Xbox One in holiday 2016, Microsoft and Platinum Games announced at Gamescom.

The action RPG follows a young longer named Drew, who is pulled into the strange and dangerous world of Draconis, where he is bonded to a fearsome and noble dragon named Thuban, the last of his kind. Thrown together by fate, the two lone heroes must defeat the powerful enemies that threaten Draconis, Earth, and a “vast” universe of parallel worlds.

You’ll work together with your dragon to defeat legions of enemy soldiers and “epic scale” beasts. An “accessible-yet-deep” combat system will allow you to fluidly chain your attacks with your dragon to create “devastating combos.”

Players will be able to customize their dragon with their favorite dragon shape, as well as evolve their unique abilities and attacks, and its appearance.

The game will also feature a four-player co-op mode.
