You can turn into a mech in 17-BIT‘ upcoming shooter Galak-Z: The Dimensional, the developer announced.
Mech mode lets players transform from a ship into a mech and “get up in an enemy’s face.” This includes slashing him with a sword, grabbing him with your extending arm, and flinging asteroids, spikes, and explosives relentlessly towards him. Your Directional Shield will deflect and absorb “even the most deadly attacks” when timed right.
In comparison to the game’s main ship-based gameplay, which is all about fighting from afar and dodging enemy attacks, the mech is up close, personal, and relentless.
Players will be able to freely transform between ship and mech without liimit.
“Unlimited transforming means you can unleash a barrage of missiles to obliterate shields then speed in sword raised for the kill, or perhaps just pluck an unwary foe from the circus of smoke and explosions and beat him to a pulp,” senior producer Raj Joshi said on the PlayStation Blog.
Galak-Z is due out for PlayStation 4 on August 4. A PC version is also planned.
