Bethesda Softworks announced the free-to-play Fallout Shelter for iOS during its E3 2015 press conference. And it’s out on the App Store tonight.
The game puts players in the role of the overseer of a Vault they create. And you control it all. Each Vault dweller has full stats and can level up. There are items, you can give Dwellers new outfits and weapons, which they’ll need when you send them off into the wasteland. Resources are important—having the right balance of food, water, and power. There are a number of different rooms you can build, some that train people. Accidents can also happen—fires can break out, raiders can attack. And the best way to get new Vault Dwellers is the old-fashioned way (pairing a man and woman). And as the overseer, you get to name all the babies.
The game is iOS-only right now, but Bethesda says it will have information on an Android version “later.”
