Yoshi’s Woolly World will launch for Wii U this fall, Nintendo announced.
The new entry in the Yoshi series re-imagines fan-favorite gameplay elements. It’s an action game set in a woolly world spread across various stages. Players will create platforms and unravel yarn walls to unveil various paths. To aid in these tasks, Yoshi will use his signature moves, like gobbling up enemies and flutter jumping while heading to the goal.
The game offers two modes. “Classic Mode” has a similar feel to traditional Yoshi series games. Despite its cute visuals, it promises to be quite challenging. “Mellow Mode,” on the other hand, will allow players to enjoy the game as “Winged Yoshi,” who has the ability to fly. Players can switch between the modes at any time.
A series of Yoshi’s Woolly World Amiibo are also planned. Unlike traditional Amiibos, these are made out of yarn. By tapping an Amiibo on the GamePad, another Yoshi will appear in the game, allowing you to play with double Yoshi. Playing with double Yoshi lets you turn your ally into a yarn ball to throw at enemies across chasms.
The Yoshi’s Woolly World Amiibo will be available alongside the game this fall in green, pink, and light blue color variations.
