Nintendo 64 and DS games hit Wii U today
Yoshi's Island DS and Super Mario 64 available today.Nintendo 64 and Nintendo DS games are coming to the Wii U Virtual Console, Nintendo announced.
Available on the Nintendo eShop today are Yoshi’s Island DS for $9.99 and Super Mario 64 for $9.99.
Future releases include:
- April 9 – Yoshi Touch & Go ($9.99) and WarioWare Touched! ($9.99_
- April 16 – Doney Kong 64 ($9.99)
- April 23 – Mario Kart DS ($9.99)
- April 30 – Paper Mario ($9.99)
Nintendo 64 games will range from $9.99 to $11.99 and DS games from $6.99 to $9.99. If you already own some of the Nintendo 64 games on Wii, you’ll be able to purchase their Wii U versions at a discounted price.
When playing DS Virtual Console games, your TV monitor and Wii U GamePad will provide multiple dual screen layout options. Some games will use your TV monitor as the main screen, while others will use both screens as one connected screen. Players can select a layout that best suits that title.
For Nintendo 64 Virtual Console games, you can select from one of three different control schemes and then configure specific buttons to your liking. If a particular game supported the Rumble Pack on Nintendo 64, the Wii U GamePad will rumble accordingly.
Both Nintendo 64 and DS Virtual Console games can be played on the Wii U GamePad, as well.
