Kingdom Hearts III news set for D23 Expo Japan, series smartphone announcement teased

Kingdom Hearts III confirmed for November fan event.

Kingdom Hearts III

Famitsu this week features an interview with Kingdom Hearts III director Tetsuya Nomura, who is doing character designs for Square Enix’s new smartphone RPG Rampage Land Rankers. Luckily, that’s not all he talks about.

Get the excerpts below.

Regarding Additional Dissidia Final Fantasy Characters

“We’ve been getting in some orders for prospective characters. Since there are a lot of characters from derivative works following Ramza, we’re looking to select characters from numbered titles that have not yet appeared. Personally, I’m pressing for [Final Fantasy II‘s] Minwu.”

Regarding Kingdom Hearts at the D23 Expo Japan in November

“We have some interesting things planned. There will be Kingdom Hearts III news, and various things, I think. Development on Kingdom Hearts III is going smoothly, but there will also be new announcements connected to it. As one of those new announcements, I think we should be able to announce a smartphone-specific development for the series in short order.”

Thanks, Hachima Kikou.
