A demo or Toukiden: Kiwami will launch for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita a week ahead of its western release on March 25, Koei Tecmo announced.
The demo consists of two distinct game modes. The first is an “introductory mode” comprised of the first two chapters of the game, including the edit mode where players can create and customize their own Slayer, and equip them with one of three new weapon types (naginata, club, and rifle).
The second section is a series of “special missions” specifically designed for the demo and set at a very high difficulty level. These may be too difficult for those who have not played the original Toukiden. But the full version of the game will increase the difficulty of missions in a much more gradual manner, Koei Tecmo assures.
Clearing every mission will let players start playing the game from Chapter 8, where the Kiwami portion of Toukiden: Kiwami begins, as well as unlock various special features and items that can be carried over to the full game.
Also in the demo you’ll be able to battle a few of the game’s brand new Oni types.
Toukiden: Kiwami is due out for PlayStation 4 and PS Vita on March 31 in North America and March 27 in Europe.
