Famitsu has gone up with its online previews of the two newly announced Funassyi games for 3DS.
Funassyi is the local mascot of Funabashi, a city located in northwestern Chiba Prefecture in Japan. He’s a pear.
Nashi-jiru Busha! Funassyi vs. Dragons
A puzzle game with simple rules. You can move only one piece at a time, and the goal is to align the same three pieces either vertically or horizontally, which will make them disappear. On the lower screen, you’ll see the puzzle pieces, while the upper screen will show Funassyi’s battles, through which you’ll advance by clearing the lower screen puzzles. To clear a stage, defeat all the on-screen enemies.
Funassyi’s strange shouts will be in full effect. Depending on how many pieces you erase at once, Funassyi’s voice will change when he attacks. The more pieces you erase at once, the splashier and more powerful the attack will be. If you erase a lot at once to achieve a chain attack, Funassyi will unleash a fierce special move.
Nashi-jiru Busha! Funassyi vs. Dragons is developed by Rocket Company and will launch for 3DS on March 26 in Japan.
Nashi-jiru Action! Funassyi no Yukai-na Ohanassyi
A side-scroller where Funassyi crosses space and time to a strange world where he intervenes in the stories of fairy tales like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty. Given that Funassyi is the mascot character for Funabashi, famous spots and products from Funabashi will also appear.
Funassyi will also come across a number of difficult boss battles, which are made up of a variety of mini-games players must overcome to proceed.
Nashi-jiru Action! Funassyi no Yukai-na Ohanassyi is developed by Success and will launch for 3DS on April 30 in Japan.
