The latest “Orience News” trailer for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD details the combat mechanics of the game’s 14 playable characters, which make up Class Zero.
The game is party-based, with characters fighting together in groups of three. When one member falls, he or she can be replaced by another of Class Zero’s cadets.
When an enemy unit is defeated, it leaves Phantoma, which can be harvested by cadets in order to enhance their magic abilities. The color of the Phantoma harvested indicates its elemental capabilities.
As far as magic goes, there are three types of properties: fire, thunder, and ice. Using the power of the harvested Phantoma, the cadets can increase the range and speed of their spells. Additionally, the three cadets in action can also combine their power to perform a triad maneuver and deal higher damage to a target.
By sacrificing their life, a cadet can summon a formidable beast. These summons are called Eidolons. Of course, the fallen cadet can be revived by returning to base.
