PlayStation 4 launch shoot ’em up Resogun is coming to PlayStation 3 and PS Vita courtesy of Climax Studios on December 23 in North America and December 17 in Europe, Sony Computer Entertainment announced.
Unlike the PlayStation 4 version, which runs at 60 frames per second, the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions run at a locked 30 frames per second. The two versions feature cross-save functionality, and the PS Vita version offers ad-hoc co-op and makes use of the touch screen, as well.
“The development team at Climax has done everything possible to make the PS3 and PS Vita versions of the game the very best they can be for each device, and I think you’ll be very impressed with what they have managed to achieve,” Sony’s XDev team said in a PlayStation Blog post.
“Picking a game that was created specifically for PS4 and bringing it to PS Vita and PS3 is very difficult, and the hardest compromise to accept during development, especially in regard to performance and graphics, is that these platforms don’t have the capability and power of PS4.”
If you already own Resogun on PlayStation 4, the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita versions will be available to you free.
