Media Create Sales: 12/15/14 – 12/21/14

This week’s highest-selling new release in Japan was Final Fantasy Explorers. The 3DS action RPG opened at over 161,000 sales.

But even a new Final Fantasy spin-off wasn’t enough to top Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi. After launching at over 1.5 million sales last week, the game moved another 533,000 copies this week. Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire followed in second at 167,000 sales.

On the hardware side, 3DS moved 196,000 units across all four of its SKUs, while sales for most platforms, including Wii U, PS Vita, and PlayStation 4, have seen big boosts compared to normal due to the pre-Christmas rush.
