Yokai Watch preparing for western takeover?

Yokai Watch

Level-5 filed trademarks for “Jibanyan” and “Whisper” in the United States.

Jibanyan and Whisper are chief characters from Level-5’s currently Japan-only Yokai Watch series of 3DS games. The first one launched in Japan last July, with the sequel launched in two versions this July, and a third version this past weekend.

The trademarks were filed on December 9. They follow a trademark for “Yo-Kai Watch” video games in January, followed by clothing and accessories trademarks in May.

In August, Level-5 said it has plans to bring the series westward in 2015.
