Japan lines up for Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi
Biccamera line photos from Famitsu's release day report.Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi, the third version of Yokai Watch 2 following July’s Yokai Watch 2: Ganso and Yokai Watch 2: Honke, launched in Japan today.
Famitsu was on the scene outside Biccamera in Toshima, Tokyo’s Ikebukuro district. Shinuchi went on sale from 8:00 a.m. at most stores, with Famitsu reporters arriving an hour earlier. The line was at 50 people around 7:00 a.m. and increased to over 100 by the time the game went on sale.
The man at the head of the line was picking up the game as a Christmas gift for his kids. Many parents were waiting in line, both with and for their children, as well as those playing the original Yokai Watch to pass time. Many were also glad that unlike Yokai Watch 2‘s original launch, there is only one version to pick up this time.
Biccamera has a number of Yokai Watch-related goods, too. Jibanyan-everything!
And everyone leaves happy.
Earlier this week, Level-5 announced that pre-orders for Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi exceeded one million, and sales for Ganso and Honke topped three million.
