Super Smash Bros. for Wii U dated for November

Console version of Nintendo fighter lands first in America.

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will launch on November 21 in North America, December 5 in Europe, and December 6 in Japan, Nintendo announced.

In North America, the game will be available in two versions: standard, as well as a $99.99 bundle including a copy of the game, a GameCube controller, and a GameCube Controller Adapter.

In Europe, the game will be available in three versions: standard, with a Mario Amiibo, or with a GameCube Controller Adapter.

A $19.99 standalone GameCube Controller Adapter and $29.99 standalone Super Smash Bros. Edition GameCube controller will also be available for purchase.

The first wave of Amiibo figures—which includes Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Fox, Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth—will launch on November 21 in North America and November 28 in Europe.

The second wave—which includes Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon—will launch in December in North America and December 19 in Europe.

All 18 Amiibo figures will launch in Japan day-and-date with the launch of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U on December 6.

Each Amiibo figure will cost $12.99 / 1,200 yen.

Ammibo figures use NFC technology to interact with compatible games in unique ways. In Super Smash Bros., players will be able to use their Amiibo figures as customized characters that can be modified and strengthened. Future Amiibo-supported games include Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10, and Yoshi’s Woolly World, with more to come.

Outside of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Nintendo announced that Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS, which launched last week in North America and Europe, has sold more than 2.8 million units worldwide.

In Japan, a Super Smash Bros.-themed New 3DS XL unit will launch on November 8 for 18,800 yen.
