Mega Steelix and Mega Glalie join Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire

Following a leak last week, Nintendo has confirmed Mega Evolutions for Steelix and Glalie will appear in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Here is each Pokemon’s description, via Nintendo:

Steelix, the Steel- and Ground-type Pokemon who evolves from Onyx, can Mega Evolve into Mega Steelix, which raises its Defense stat greatly and gives it the Steel-type move, Iron Tail. Iron Tail is most destructive during a sandstorm, thanks to its Sand Force Ability, which increases the power of Rock-, Ground-, and Steel-type moves by 30% during the sandstorm weather condition.

Glalie, the Ice-type Pokemon, can Mega Evolve into Mega Glalie, raising its Speed and significantly raising its Attack and Special Attack. Upon Mega Evolving, it gains the Ability, Refrigerate, which makes Normal-type moves into Ice-type moves. It also gains the Ice-type move, Sheer Cold, which can knock a target out in one blow!

Both Steelix and Glalie can be captured in the demo version of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, which will launch October 21, and transfer them to the full game when it launches on November 21.
